Palace Proposal

In order to create an intimate and serene experience for this client, based on their requests and culture, eight separate gardens were born. These gardens were created from the idea of lotus flowers floating freely in a pond.
   Garden of Illumination: a welcoming Garden that anticipates the grand entrance and the experiential transition into the realm of the Palace. It is a place of light and brightness.
   Garden of Content: a Garden of peaceful happiness, where visitors to His Majilis access His Tent, the Palace Masjid, and the Guest House. It is a place of comfort and fulfillment.
   Garden of Amble: a Garden for the expansion of His Museum and for visitors to wander and enjoy outdoor sculptures and Art. It is a place of meandering and pleasure.
   Garden of Warmth: a Garden for Her Majilis, and a loving place for the companionship of close friends. It is a place of concord and amity.
   Garden of Respite: a Garden for the family and an outdoors extension of the living areas. It is a place of rest and affinity.
   Garden of Whispers: a Garden for the daughters to play freely and joyfully without being watched and to be distant from all the other public accessed areas. It is a place of innocence and closeness.
   Garden of Gaiety: a Garden for the boys, for them to play and practice, and a private venue for their sports facilities. It is a place of cheer and merriment.
   Garden of Solace: a Garden for the Royal Couple and for their seclusion and exclusivity, and an outdoors space only accessible by them. It is a place of quietude and oneness.

Luisa Bustamante - Architecture & Construction Project Manager

I have 8 years of very unique experience and my excellent interpersonal skills, coupled with my project management experience and extensive knowledge of the design and construction process, make me a well rounded creative.

In my career thus far I have purposely sought out challenges that continue to shape me into the architect and person I aspire to be. Working overseas taught me to be subjective and receptive in both life and the workplace. Working at a design/build has given me an appreciation for the construction process and a respect for all trades involved. Working for Rafael Viñoly has taught me patience and a better understanding of handling high profile clients and projects. And finally, my most recent position as Project Manager at S9 Architecture has furthered my construction administration knowledge and provided great opportunity to further develop client relation skills.
